About Us
MWPOL is the vision of a Christian body of believers whose conviction is to protect its members from the undesirable effects of unrestricted surfing of the Internet. MWPOL is using Security Appliance filter designed by Compass Foundation.
The following brief testimony of our faith and values, serves as a basis for needing a filtering system. As a Christian church we believe in the “Apostolic Confession of Faith” and teach and adhere to the 1632 Dortrecht Confession of Faith.
Apostolic Confession of Faith
─ I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth;
─ And in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary;
─ Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and buried;
─ Rose from the dead on the third day;
─ Ascended into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
─ Whence He will come to judge the quick and the dead.
─ I believe in the Holy Ghost.
─ I believe in a General Christian Church; the communion of Saints;
─ The forgiveness of sins;
─ The resurrection of the body;
─ And life everlasting. Amen.
We Believe and Teach:
- the Genesis account of God’s creation where man was created as a living soul.
- that through the subtilty of Satan our first parents (Adam and Eve) violated the commandment of God and through this disobedience were separated from the presence of God.
- that God in His great love and mercy sent His only Son into the world for the redemption and salvation of the fallen human race.
- that Jesus established an everlasting Testament through the Gospel which reveals how His followers are to respond to the only, holy and righteous God and to their fellow man.
- that without repentance and amendment of life we cannot obtain salvation. It is the knowledge of the sinfulness of our sins and the hopelessness of our lost condition that draws us towards the righteous, merciful and holy God. It is then through faith in the atoning power of the blood of Christ that we can cry Abba Father and become heirs of the Kingdom of God.
- that this above confession and faith in God needs to be sealed by water baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
- that there is a visible church of God which is the bride of Christ. The church needs to be obedient to the Word, separate from the world, and consist of a voluntary disciplined body of followers of Christ.
- that the church needs to have leaders ordained by the Spirit of God to lead the church. These leaders, with the council of the church and the Word, strive to teach the Word in its truth and maintain order that is to the spiritual welfare of its members.
- that the Lord’s Supper or communion is only for those who have submitted themselves to God and the order of the church. The observance of this sacrament is to remind the members of the death and suffering of Christ.
- that as Jesus washed His disciples’ feet we also are to wash one another’s feet as a sign of humility that we are all equal in the sight of God.
- that there is a honourable state of matrimony between two believers of the different sexes. These individuals need to be of the same faith and baptism and understand that Jesus forbade divorce and remarriage within His church.
- that the church and civil government are two distinct and separate institutions. The church needs to be obedient and respect the civil government unless the government requests things from its subjects contrary to the Word.
- that vengeance belongs to God and that we need to always practice doing to others as we would have them do to us.
- that swearing of the oath is forbidden by Jesus. Our word must be true, where yes means yes, and no means no.
- that the church needs to be pure. Therefore a wilful sinner and disobedient member needs to be put out of the fellowship of the church as according to the rule of Christ as taught in Matthew 18. Such a person upon a repentant spirit and an open confession is gladly received back into the fellowship of the believers.
- that there will be a return of Christ where He will not come as a saviour of the world but as a judge. He will gather the righteous into eternal glory, but the unrighteous and the sinner will be cast into eternal damnation.
May we ever take heed to the words of Jesus and humble ourselves before the eternal God and by faith lay hold of eternal life. Amen.
